Does Cervical Inflammation Cause Yellow Vaginal Discharge?
Question: Diagnosed with BV (Swab test) and cervicitis.Pap smear test was normal (no HPV or abnormal cell,) just moderate cervical inflammation. Prescribe by many courses of Antibiotic as I mentioned below. The symptoms are MUCH better but they are not completely gone(little sensation of burning sometimes and some yellow discharge every other day) I don't know if the infection is gone or not. Because yesterday when my Dr examined me there were no discharge. But now I see some yellow discharge. I don't know what to do I am so desperate. It's been 3,4 month now. And I can't just get rid of that
Brief Answer:
A repeat swab will tell you what is going on.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Well, you have taken an extensive antibiotic course.
The BV would have surely gone.
Just ask your doctor to take a repeat vaginal swab.
If it is negative for BV, you are surely cured completely.
Mild symptoms may persist for a few days after elimination of BV.
Has your partner been checked ?
It is best to have protected sex for a few more days - maybe another 15 days.
Avoid taking any more medications or local cleansing agents.
Just get a repeat swab done to know what is going on.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
