Brief Answer:
Never drink alcohol while taking prescription medications

Detailed Answer:
Good evening. My name is Dr. Saghafi and I am a neurologist who would like to share some thoughts on your question. 3-4 glasses of wine nightly would be sufficient to cause all the problems you mention WITHOUT the clozapine.

So now that we've quickly and succinctly clarified that the effects of alcohol without prescription medication are sufficient to result in everything you've mentioned then, it follows that when in combination with a prescription medication classified as an ATYPICAL ANTIPSYCHOTIC the effects of the alcohol can be further magnified.

This means that other unwanted somatic issues such as slowing down of respiration, lowering of blood pressure, reducing filtration effectiveness of the kidneys, and further depressing mental functions may occur and if not careful the consequences could become even more complicated if not tragic.

Please consider speaking with your physician about this issue because I'm sure they are not aware of your alcohol ingestion along with this particular medication. My hope is that you will stop the alcohol ingestion and bring this up as soon as possible to either your physician's attention or another professional who can help and recommend appropriate guidance.

If the above information was helpful in answering your question I'd appreciate a small amount of written feedback and a STAR RATING.
