Does Cytomegalovirus Infection In Mother Affect The Foetus?
Question: My baby was detected with microcephaly at 30 weeks. It was terminated . My doctor advised torch test and the result cytomegaloviruse igg positive and igm negative.Doctor suggested me natclovir..My worry is will my next pregnancy Get affected by the cytomegaloviruse

Is that tablet itself fine for us? Will it get cured or I need any injections...will that viruse affect me again ...when it is very good to conceive again ( time gap) because it was only 15 days passed for me with my baby termination. I have attached mine and my husband torch panel report. Kindly suggest me I am very much worrying on this mam...I dont want to lost my child again...I believe you can understand my pain

I have seen the attached reports. You have raised IgG levels of cytomegalovirus and Rubella that indicates an old infection. These two will not affect your future pregnancy.
You have herpes infection also with raised IgM levels. This needs treatment with antiviral medicine. The levels will decrease after full treatment. You need to avoid pregnancy for next 6 months and then test the levels again before conception.
