Question: I was the victim of multiple gang rapes and physical abuse/torture humiliation and bondage from the age of 14 to 17 since then I have problems securing my gender identity; I have severe and debilitating panic attacks; I don't trust anyone and am plagued by thoughts of suicide ;I experience night terrors frequently so sleep is exhausting,,,is there any hope that I can lead a normal life.

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are part of depression.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your concern. You were subjected to significant emotional and physical traumas which resulted in development of panic attacks and probably depression symptoms. The thoughts of suicide, lack of trust, debilitating panic attacks etc are part of depression.

If you failed to get benefit from Diazepam then you can talk with your doctor to add some other antidepressants and anti anxiety drugs. SSRI drugs like Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline etc can be used to get relief from the symptoms you have. The drugs will help in improving the symptoms and you will definitely improve in functioning.

Thanks

As a result of my constant abuse I have developed highly unusual desires and behaviors. My recurrent fantasy is to be servicing multiple men to the point of my exhaustion..as I've been forced to do in the past; but the last man strangles me to death as he's climaxing. I die knowing that at last I've made everybody happy and I can finally go to sleep. I have avoided servicing men for the past 23 years but the craving to satisfy them is very strong and I'm afraid of losing myself again and contracting AIDS or some other disease. What can I do?

Brief Answer:
Try to suppress the intrusive thoughts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

You are not contacting men since past 23 years so I don't think there is any need to remain tensed. You will be able to control yourself in coming times too. The fear that you might not lose yourself or you might develop HIV are due to anxiety only.

Try to ignore these thoughts. How can you lose yourself when you are avoiding men since last 23 years. The fear will go by own. Try to suppress the intrusive thoughts you have.

Thanks
