1 tablet of Mifepristone is given at once orally , followed 24 hours later by 2 tablets of Misoprostol vaginally / orally and then 2 more another 24 hours later.
After this, you would have bleeding with cramps and expulsion of a fleshy mass.
Heavy bleeding lasts for a few days might continue up to 2 weeks.
A follow up scan after 2 weeks is essential to check that the abortion succeeded and the uterine cavity is empty.
There are certain side effects of the abortion process that you should be aware of like severe uncontrolled bleeding
If you do not follow all steps of precaution, there might be rarely an undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy, fainting, infection etc.
Pros are that you would have an abortion safely in more than 95 % of cases, without risk of a surgery.
In 4 % of cases, the pills might fail, and you might require surgical abortion.
If you vomit any of the pills within 4 hours of consumption, repeat the dosage.
