Brief Answer:
Drinking water and taking medications is usually OK.

Detailed Answer:
It is perfectly fine to drink water. In fact being adequately hydrated makes the blood draw easier. So yes, drink water.

Regarding taking your medications in the morning before the test, in general we recommend that you do continue to take your medications. Occasionally there is a reason a doctor will not want you to take a particular medicine, but if he or she did not specify this, I would say to go ahead and take all 4 of your medications in the morning prior to the test. If you are unsure and the office or lab is open at the time you would usually take your medications, you can call them to double check, but it is usually ok.

I hope this information helps.

I was just worried about taking the 4 types of medicine mentioned in the morning after fasting through out the night. But at least you tell me I can drink water. Thanks for your instruction! The doctor appointment is 9.30am in the morning ,what time should I start fasting from food
I gathered that taking all 4 types of medicine on empty stomach with water in the morning before the 9.30am appointment can be carried out.what time should I start fasting if appontment is at 9.30 am.

Brief Answer:
Fasting guidelines usually range 8-12 hours. 10 hours is generally good.

Detailed Answer:
Depending on the tests that are being done, the recommended fast times can vary. Some are 8-10 hours, others are 10-12 hours.

So to play it safe, 10 hours should cover it, if you can. So no eating after 11:30 pm.
