Does Extra Dosed Tylenol Have Any Harmful Effects?

Question: Hello! I am inquiring about tylenol and children. I gave an 18 month old child i watch an extra dose of liquid tylenol on accident- likely 1.5-3 hours after his mother gave him a dose of tylenol. That makes two doses within 1.5-3 hours of each other. This was done due to a communication error- i thought she had said she gave him motrin. However she had given tylenol. I gave an extra dose thinking itd help since his fever was still at 101.3. Hes had very little medicine otherwise the last few days. He has a cold- stuffy nose, body aches, fever.
Is the second dose something to be overly worried about? Will he be okay since it was just a one time double dose?
Brief Answer:
There is no cause for concern

Dear Ms
Let me reassure you one extra dose of Paracetamol /Acetaminophen(Tylenol) does not cause any harm. Tylenol is one of the safest analgesic/antipyretic.
This is one of the common clinical problem I encounter in my practice and there has been no side effects.
Rest be assured there is absolutely no cause for concern.
