Does Fatigue Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Oct 2014
Question: Feel lethargic, I traveled on a 10 hour plane ride (2 weeks ago) to a new country for work. My room does not have curtains so alot of light comes in (plan to fix this issue) So at night I only wear an eye mask to sleep. Its pretty hot here too, perhaps i could crank up the AirCon.
I asked earlier about a question of not getting aroused or able to have an erection. I was wondering if not having good sleep is also apart of the problem ? Any tips on how to meditate for sleep ? I must also say that the humidity causes me to be a mouth breather alot. The biggest thing I noticed about being very lethargic...is I don't get aroused anymore or get a random erection. (I used to get them all the time prior to being here less than a month ago)

Brief Answer:
Poor erection is due to lethargy and fatigue

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Thanks for your query, Welcome to HCM.

First of all, jet lag itself does not cause erectile dysfunction, but the lethargy and fatigue you are experiencing, is the cause.

You have been there for last 15 days, I feel by these much time you should be out of jet lag symptoms. 10 hour flight must be crossing 8 or 9 time zone. So it will take almost 10 days for the resolution of the symptoms. It also depend upon your travel direction, like east to west travel is easy to adjust then west to east, because of geography and time zone variability.

You must be taking the measures for adjustment for new time zone. You have to adjust your sleeping time, meal time, avoiding stimulant drinks [alcohol, coffee etc] at particular time, day light stimulation for better adjustment, light variability in room should be minimized for sleep, avoiding exercise near bed time and so many others. You can visit a doctor or psychiatrist near by you for this.

For erectile dysfunction, you have asked question previously, so you must be knowing what to do. Current problems are because of your jet lag symptoms.

Hope I have cleared your doubts. If you have further query then feel free to ask..wishing you a good health.
