Does Impacted Upper Molar Cause Unilateral Pain At The Soft Palate Regia?

Question: Dear Dr,
Is it possible that my impacted upper third molar gives me unilateral pain at the soft palate regia? There is no obvious sign of tissue infection or irritation, but there are painful sensations time to time radiating from the place where third molar should be. Pain is radiating sometimes to the ear, sometimes to the TMJ... etc. It is not protruded out yet, but my CT of paranasal sinuses shows it's root is protruding in the maxillary sinus. I have done all the ENT diagnostics anf exams and there is nothing wrong. Is it possible that this impacted upper molar gives me all thos trouble?

Brief Answer:
Yes this pain could be due impacted molar
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in.
As per your history & reports,it could be due to impacted third molar. Since root of molar is in the sinus so it might cause referred pain till palate.
You need to get an x- ray named water's view in which the exact position of the tooth will be clear.
Consult oral & maxillofacial surgeon.
First start with a course of antibiotic & still if problem persists get it extracted.
Also do warm saline rinses three to four times a day.
Do not worry all will be fine.
Hope I answered your query
Wishing you good health

Dear Dr,
Yes, the answer was good, I have had an 3D orto, and I have discovered that this molar IS protruded into maxillary sinus, and IS NOT infected. It is not protruded in the oral cavity, it is pretty deep in the gum. So now, what is the best way to go? My dentist is about to wait and watch, and the other opinion is to extract it as soon as possible, before it makes me some biger problem. What should I do? Can this not infected molar make me all this symptoms just by "trying to find it's way out"?
Best regards

Brief Answer:
Yes if it is not infected you may wait.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
In my opinion if it is not infected & not causing any problem as such then you may wait as told by your dentist.
Since it involves sinus so extraction will be complicated.
If its not causing any harm then you may leave it.
Just do warm saline gargles & regularly visit your dentist to check the position of tooth.
Wishing you good health

Yes, I understand that, but what about months of time to time pain at my soft palate, ear, jaw, tmj, does it count as "causing a trouble"? This is my biggest doubt. I have done all kind of ENT exams and found nothing, head and neck surgeon checked parotide and found nothing, so the only suspect left is of a dental origin. My lower wisdom tooth on the same side is impacted too, it's roots are touching some inferior alveolar nerve, is that one maybe causing me all of this? It is pushing at the 7 by the 45 degrees angle trying to get out, and is protruded for justa a little bit, no infection.
Best regards.
Best regards.
Brief Answer:
Yes lower tooth might be exterting pressure
Detailed Answer:
If lower third molar is exerting pressure on third molar then get it extracted because it might lead to secondary caries of second molar.
In case of upper third molar, it is associated with sinus & very difficult to be removed. If its not infected & not damaging adjacent teeth you may wait.
Pain in ear can be due to lower impacted tooth. So get it extracted.
Visit dentist every 6 months for follow up.

Yes, I am very responsible about my dental health and I am visiting my dentist at 3 months period. She suggested me the same as you did, that the lower one may be the problem, and I will schedule the surgery to get it out. Thank you for consultation on this.
