Brief Answer: It is unlikely that pain is due to inguinal scar. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thanks for writing to HCM It is unlikely that pain is due to inguinal scar tissue. There must be some other reasons for pain like calculus in kidney or ureter, pelvic infection, musculoskeletal causes etc. You need proper clinical examination and investigations. Investigations include Routine hemogram,Random blood sugar(RBS),Liver function test(LFT),Renal function test(RFT),Lipid profile,Urine RE/ME,Ultrasound of abdomen.Further investigations like CT Scan can be done if needed. X-ray and MRI of L/S spine can be done after clinical evaluation to exclude lumbar disc prolapse. Proper treatment depend upon clinical findings and investigation reports. You can consult surgeon. You are taking gabapentin for pain.It is mainly prescribed in neuropathic pain.If it is not working then antispasmodic like tablet Dicyclomine can be taken. Get well soon.
