Does Intake Of Cycloset Help In Curing PCOD?
Cycloset is of no use in PCOD.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Cycloset syrup is not used for regulating periods in women with PCOD.
Basically , PCOD is a condition of hormonal imbalance, and women have irregular cycles in this condition.
Cycles can be regulated by using hormonal pills, conventional oral contraceptive pills, but since you want a child, you cannot use those.
Please get the following tests done -
Transvaginal ultrasound scan on day 2 of your period.
Hormonal tests - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone, Lipid profile.
Some medications are known to improve symptoms in PCOD.
One is Metformin and the other is Myoinositol and supplements ( eg. Myonext ).
Please discuss these options with your doctor.
Weight loss is critical, since even 5 % loss of weight may result in regular cycles.
Please start planning for a child , and consult an Infertility Specialist , as you may need help of medications to produce eggs and regular scanning to monitor growth of the egg follicle.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
With a plan to conceive by December, when should I seriously take up medical tests and other medications? What might be the possible medications that would be prescribed?

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
See, basically to lose weight, there are mainly only two modalities -
1. Diet - Consult a proper Dietician and have a diet chart prepared with VLCD ( very low calorie diet ).
2. Exercise - Burn atleast 400 calories in cardiac form of exercise daily for atleast 5 days a week ( treadmill, jogging, elliptical, rowing, swimming , cycling etc ).
Since how much time are you trying to conceive ?
I mean, since how long ?
I actually got married by XXXXXXX 2015 and I am presently using contraceptive methods. For have planned to have a baby by this December.

Detailed Answer:
Okay, so you can start trying right away.
Take daily 5 mg per day folic acid supplements.
Get basic tests done - blood group, hemoglobin etc.
With PCOD, cycles will be irregular, so remain sexually active every alternate day from day 12 of your cycle onwards.
IF you fail to conceive after 3 months, consult a doctor.
Go for semen analysis of your husband.
GO for follicular monitoring ( serial ultrasound scanning of the ovaries to check for developing egg follicle and to confirm that ovulation is happening ).
if there is improper ovulation, then drugs can be given to induce ovulation.
The commonly prescribed drug is Clomiphene Citrate.
But do not worry about that .
Once you finish the first step ( trying naturally ) , then you can contact me after a few months, and I will guide you for the further steps to be taken.
