Does Intake Of Risperdal Help In Curing Tourette Syndrome?
Question: Seven year old girl is taking Strattera for ADD. Her hands shake and tremble when she seems to be under pressure. At school, teacher says she does it all day. Took her to ped. neurologist yesterday and he wanted to try respidol. I do not want her to take this drug. Has been diagnosed with movement disorder.
Tourette's has been ruled out as well as other neurological problems Been doing this since she was 4.
She has a twin brother that is fine. She does activities like ride bike, snow ski and swim. She is a good 1st grade student and gets along with others. Any suggestions?

In my opinion, respidol can be started as it benefits in hyperactivity and some behavioural agitation.
It should be started with low dose and increased gradually. May I know why you do not want to try respidol?
Side effects should be looked and observed.
What movement disorder she is suffering?
Be in regular follow up of pediatric neurologist during initiation of respidol.
