Does Intake Of Topron Help In Treating Diarrhea?
Question: we are traveling in costa rica and our 12 year old daughter has travelers stomach - as do my husband and myself. the hotel got prescriptions from the local pharmacy. the medicine prescribed for us is Topron I just want to make sure that is OK for my daughter to take.

Topron is antibiotic Nifuroxazide and it us effective in treating diarrhea and colitis caused by most bacterias including Salmonella and Shigella.
So this is approved medication and it can be used in children as well. So it can be used but don't forget to rehydrate your daughter , give her easier(Soft) food and if there is no improvement after48 hour, she should undergo stool analysis and see a local doctor for a detailed physical examination.

thank you so much for getting back to me. They've prescribed it to me as well and is it OK to take with alcohol? They also prescribed Dislep which is apparently not good to take with alcohol.
