Hi, thanks for using HCM.
I went through your query and understood your concerns.
Few measures to improve your symptoms are: life style modifications like
Losing weight.
Avoiding alcohol and sleeping pills.
left sided sleep positions to improve breathing.
Stopping smoking. Smoking can increase the swelling in the upper airway, which may worsen both snoring and apnea.
Avoiding sleeping on your back.
Any exercise to loose weight is going to useful, weight reduction helps to reduce fat in neck area so clears air entry. Brisk walk, jogging etc which ever is convenient for you.
Diet changes also help to loose weight.
Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query. I will be glade to answer them.

Hi Dr XXXXXXX sorry to bother you again. I am a sleep apnea patient. You recommend sleeping on the left side to improve breathing. Any adverse effects if I sleep on the right side. I used to snore very often if I sleep on my back. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Sleeping on side ways
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for follow up query.
Sleeping on side ways is preferred, both sides are good. sleeping on left side is better than right side, because of airway pattern.
Sleeping on back is not preferred as it increases airway obstruction, Resulting in snoring .
Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query.
