Does Knee Brace Help In Treating Meniscus Injury?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jul 2016
Question: I was injured while deployed in the Army and ended up having the ACL, MCL and half of the meniscus removed in my left knee. The VA says I need a knee replacement but am too young for one at this point. I am tired of having it go out and falling down at random times and not being able to run and play with my kids. I'm wondering if there is a knee brace that will hold me together that a Doctor would recommend. The VA provided a neoprene wrap type brace which primarily just makes my leg numb below the knee and provides very little benefit that I can see.

Brief Answer:
Vulkan stabilizing knee brace can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A neoprene wrap brace is light weight and flexible and you can completely use your knee freely. But if it is inadequate for your daily activities you can consider using Vulkan stabilizing knee brace that fits you properly.
If that doesn't help then Lenox Hill Weekender knee brace is the only option for you. It is bulkier but provides a very good support for day to day activities.
I hope this answers your query.
