Question: Does monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis make patients more vulnerable to contracting infections, e.g. hypostatic pneumonia? Can monoclonal B-cell lympocytosis transform into acute leukemia (as distinct from chronic leukemia)?

Monoclonal B lymphocytosis is very unlikely to cause recurrent pneumonia. In that event, we need to exclude transformation to chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Also, it is not known to transform into acute leukemia.
