Does Monoclonal B-cell Lymphocytosis Contract Infections?
Question: Does monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis make patients more vulnerable to contracting infections, e.g. hypostatic pneumonia? Can monoclonal B-cell lympocytosis transform into acute leukemia (as distinct from chronic leukemia)?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely to cause these
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query
Monoclonal B lymphocytosis is very unlikely to cause recurrent pneumonia. In that event, we need to exclude transformation to chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Also, it is not known to transform into acute leukemia.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer further followup queries, if any.
