Brief Answer:
Either infection or just food poisoning

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone thorough your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I completely understand your predicament ma'am and would like to explain the two possibilities to you:

1. Food poisoning/not infection: With food poisoning, the body remains irritated as long as the contaminated food or drink is within the body. As soon as the contaminated food leaves the body, the individual begins to recover. But the contaminated food would have irritated the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) enough to make it sensitive to certain types of foods (e.g. spicy food, fried food, oily food, fatty food, etc.).

So your body could just be reacting to the type of food you ate today which made your nauseous

2. Stomach infection: During an infection, there are fluctuations of symptoms. As long as there is food and fluids in your system, the infection will cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, loose stools, etc. If the stomach is empty, then there may not be any symptoms. So with the input of food and drink through breakfast (possibly even food that irritated the stomach as mentioned above) this could have brought on an aggravation of your condition and symptoms.

The best way to confirm an infection is with a blood test looking for elevated white blood cells; and in case of a stomach infection even a stool analysis can be conducted (but not really required if the blood test confirms the infection).

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.
