Does Precancerous Cells In Cervix Spread To Vagina?
I attached a picture (a little embarrassed) could you take a look at tell me what you think.
Also how probable is it for the pre cancer cells that were in cervix go to vagina. I removed my cervix 8 months ago because it was my choice.
Could the atypical cells of the vagina swab be linked to other harmless conditions ?
The dark spots are not necessarily linked to cancer?
Atypical cells are not related to this pigmentation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The precancerous cells that were present in the cervix are not likely to spread to the vagina after the cervix has been removed. There was no XXXXXXX cancer when the cervix was removed. So you need not worry. I have seen the attached image. This is just a small harmless pigmentation. Usually it does not spread and happens due to age related changes in the skin.

I don't know how to thank you for appeasing my concerns. Thanks to your professional diagnosis I had a worry-free Christmas. God bless you.
I removed my cervix fallopian tubes and ovaries because I was concerned and since I have a family history of cancer (breast cancer my mom) I have always lived in fear. Which is not a nice way to live.
Now after 6 months I went for a follow up vagina smear and was convinced all was clear until my doctor told me it came back atypical, but when I spoke to the OBGYN he said not to worry, it could be due to the fact that I have no hormones.
What should I do Dr XXXXXXX to help heal do I need hormone replacement?
No active treatment is needed right now.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
With a family history of breast cancer it is best to avoid any hormonal treatments in the absence of any significant symptoms. It is best not to take any treatment and wait for 8-10 weeks. Do get a repeat vaginal smear done. It comes back to normal on its own in many cases.
Hope my answer is helpful.
