the meds i am taking are: glimipiride, metformin, hydrochlorithizide, nefidipine, carvidelol. virtually all of them, indicate side effects of abdominal pain, bloating, muscle cramps, constipation and three of them, in an extended list of side effects provided by my pharmacist also may cause alopecia. i have taken several of these meds, the first two listed, for a number of years and have been having hair loss for a number of years...the gastric problems were exacerbated when two meds were prescribed by an endocrinologist...off one in one month and a second one in 3 months...discomfort is not as severe now, but chronic. please note have been drinking warm lemon juice daily for 4/5 months. Seems to me, that if all the meds i am currently taking have either/both these side effects there's something there?. Note...the gas, bloating, cramps occur at nite...situation is near normal during the day when i am active

Brief Answer:
Drug Induced?Gases/Bloating with Urinary Frequency/Under Evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Drug Induced?Gases/Bloating with Urinary Frequency/Under Evaluation

My Impression-?Cardiac Dyspepsia with Un-controlled Diabetes with ? Entero-Colitis -Which needs to be investigated on priority to come out of this Gases/Stomach Distress problem of Yours.

Hi,Dear,Thanks for the updates about the medicines taken.
Your main health concerns seems to be Gases/Stomach Bloating.
Don't get obsessed with the medicines causing these side effects.
No doubt medicines do affect your Gases and Stomach Bloating.
Its good that your take Lemon with Warm Water,to which You just add Honey to it.

Update Me about your weight and your daily diet schedule.
You have not updated about any piles / fissure or IBS problems,in the past or currently. So please update on it.
And about the daily work activities at this age.

Till then I would suggest you to -
-Reduce on intake volume of -Solid /Leafy vegies in the food helpings
-Be on More of Soups and Curries.
-Don't take solid food after 4 pm.
-Be on Banana Milk Shake x 2 times a day.
-Be on Black Tea at 6 Pm
-Reduce on solid and fluid intake after 6 pm.
-Add 15 minutes Jogging by 7 Pm / or Evening walk for 30 minutes before sleep

Medicines Suggested -
-Tab Enzar 1 with the Main Meals would help you.
-Tab Panto-D- 1 HS at 6 Pm, would help you to reduce Stomach Distress-.

This would reduce on your drug needs and would keep your systems tuned to your physical needs and would give better sleep.

ALERTS Suggested-to be watched and Investigated-
-Review with Your Cardiologist /Physician-Get ECG/ 2 D Echo-to rule out any Chest Discomfort due to accompanied Silent Angina presenting with Dyspepsia with Stomach Distress/

My Impression-And Suggestions-
-Your problem seems to be with your diet/exercise and its schedules, for your age and your disease ailments.
-Also You seem to have Entero-Colitis of subacute nature, which is exaggerating the Bloating and Stomach Distress,at night time.
-Review with Your Physician for Cardiac and Diabetic Treatment Evaluation is suggested,as it could be -Silent Angina with Cardiac-Dyspesia and need not be neglected for the Stomach Distress caused by Gases / or caused by entero-colitis
-So also your sleep is disturbed by accompanied frequent urination,Which would indicate un-controlled diabetes. So check with your Physician after Fasting and Post-prandial Blood Tests and get the anti-diabetic doses adjusted.
So Check up with your stool and urine ,for any GI(Gasto-Intestinal)Infections and for any UTI(Urinary Tract Infection)
-As you are on medicines for diabetes and blood pressure for so many years,The bloating seems to be a worry for you lately and needs to be investigated with urinary frequency, you have lately.
-Resolving your Gases /Stomach Bloating would require close follow up,with updates and interactions for 3/4 times over next few weeks.

Keep Me updated after your Stool/Urine and Blood Sugar Tests.
Follow the dietary and Life style changes suggested, which would help you to reduce on your Gases/Stomach distress.

Be Candid in meticulous follow up after the tests and Cardiac and Diabetic Work ups.

Hope this would resolve the confusion You have from your Gases/ and Stomach Distress.

I have tried to put you on alert and to suggest the importance of -Diabetic and Cardiac and GI and Urinary Investigations, which are important before your case is treated with any medicines.

Hope You would take these suggestions in positive spirit. And would work up your case with your doctors. This should help to reduce your health issues in time to come. The decision is yours, and your doctors.
