Does Random Glucose Level Of 87 Suggest Pre Diabetic Stage?

Question: I have again test today and my fasting glucose is 92 should I need post meal test to confirm prediabtes as my random glucose is 87 but hba1c is 5.9

For people without diabetes, the normal range for the hemoglobin A1c test is between 4% and 5.6%. Hemoglobin A1c levels between 5.7% and 6.4% indicate increased risk of diabetes, and levels of 6.5% or higher indicate diabetes.

Since your random blood sugar levels looks skeptical at 87mg/dl as fasting blood sugar is itself 92mg/dl,

I suggest kindly repeat :
1. Fasting blood sugar
2. Post prandial blood sugar
in a reliable laboratory along with a Glucose Tolerance test.

If it is hinting at pre diabetes stage or insulin resistance then you will have to made dietary modifications to reduce blood sugar levels and exercise and make lifestyle changes.

The risk of early onset of diabetes is even more if there is a family history of diabetes.

After 3 months you can again get your Hb1Ac level checked again.

Hello doctor I have again do the fasting and post prandial 2 hours and my fasting is 90 and post prandial is 117 and I have done the test by Dr lal path

According to The XXXXXXX Diabetes Association:

1. A normal fasting blood glucose target range for an individual without diabetes is 70-130 mg/dL
2. The 2 hour post prandial blood glucose target should be less than 180 mg/dL.

Hence your reports are normal.
Nothing to worry.
