Does Regular Use Of Venlafaxine And Amitriptyline Cause Fibromyalgia?

Question: i have been taking 25mg of amitriptalyne and 37.5mg venlafaxine fro severe fibromyaligia for 18 months. i excersise and eat well, but drink too much wine. I have an amazing 2.5 yr old son but a psycologically abusive husband and stressful living enviroment. (im 100% sure my husband caused the Fibromyalgia, and my sons colic due to the stress he put me under when pregnant) in addition i lift heave at work and herniated a disk a few weeks back. i am very concerned that im not getting better, and have often difficulty using my hands. i am alos having dificulty controlling my mood, get angry easy, have been violent but stopped, get bouts of deppression, lack of intrest in life, cant remeber what happens when i get angry, what can i do to get better?

You are on very low doses of antidepressants. To treat mood swings and depression, typical doses of venlafaxine of 150mg to 225mg are required. I would talk to your doctor about increasing the dose. Additionally, you may need to seek help to get protection from your husband. Psychotherapy might help you process his abuse and help you feel better, even more so than medication.

I have been having depression and chemical imbalance all my life and i need to figure out how to beat this, not just medicate myself.
