Does Small Polyp On Uterus Cause Pregnancy Like Symptoms And Light Period?
Question: I am a 34 year old, never had kids but been trying for 2 months. My last cycle hubby and I had intercourse during ovulation window. A week after intercourse, I had light spotting then came on a light period that lasted 3 days. The very next day once off the 3 day light period, I began to have a lot of pregnancy symptoms, breast sensations, breast enlarge, fatigue, light spotting, lower back pains. I also began to have dull cramping After this light period. After a few days of cramping, I decided to get checked by my obgyn. Because this never happened to be before. The dr noted that my cervix was soft, but he said the pains were coming from ovarian cyst. I was so terrified because this never happened as well. But he ordered me to get a trans vaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound came back 2 days later and revealed I had no cysts on my ovaries. But the worker saw a small polyp on my uterus. My question is: Could this be mistaken to be an early pregnancy? Does polyps cause serious pregnancy symptoms?

The pregnancy like symptoms and light period are due to the polyp causing incomplete shedding of the endometrium due to congestion of all the pelvic organs caused by increased blood flow to the polyp.
Basically when there is a light period there occurs incomplete shedding and this causes incomplete decline in levels of hormones as well which leads to pregnancy like symptoms.
This polyp can lead to erratic spotting also at times so in case there any such complaint again in future then get the polyp removed which will also aid in early conception.
