Bumetanide is used to threat volume overload state. Where in patients have excessive water retention either due to
1. Low albumin
2. Heart failure
3. Kidney failure.
Taking this drug will prevent serious effects of volume overload like breathlessness and pulmonary edema, this is the only thing we doctors are worried about and not just swelling of the feet
Larger doses will be required for kidney failure patients.
