Although studies have indicated that the actual shelf life life of many medicines is more than the labelled expiry date,but one should adhere to the limit set by the manufacturing company, because there is no way the part of the consumer would know how much potency is still left in the product.
On an average,this expiry time varies from 1 year to 3 years from the date of manufacturing and specially for capsules and tablets.
In your case,it should not be used because even if CEPHALEXIN was manufactured in 2009,it is more than three years since then.
