Brief Answer:
It can not be due to ECT

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to make it clear that ECT, although causes memory loss but it is restricted for very short period during which ECT takes place. As your doctor said ECT do not affect procedural memory (Cooking, driving, writing, operating machines or any other procedure).
Most of the time ECT causes loss of factual memory that too for some time and most of patient regain it back as the time passes.

Although I do not have any other details to answer your query but as per the provided details the disease responsible for epilepsy could be the most potential reason for memory loss. The second cause is trauma although I am not sure whether you experienced any trauma.

I must make it clear that if the memory loss was sudden there is good chance of recovery over the time.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.
