
Does Working During The Night Affect One's Health?

Question: I work in nights 5 days a week from 5 pm to 4 am . I believe working in nights deteriorate my natural health . So kindly advise me how to compensate it , what can I take as additional things apart from normal food .

Night shifts has a few ill effects. Inadequate sleep and lack of physical activity besides improper diet can lead to increased stressors, over weight, high blood pressure, deranged blood sugar and cholesterol. Therefore the following are my suggestions to keep yourself healthy.
1. Make sure you get good and undisturbed sleep.
2. Eat regularly
3. Keep yourself active.
4. Maintain weight.
5. Physical exercise
6. Restrict coffee/ tea and alcohol
