Done With Blood Sugar Test And Fasting Glucose. Does It Imply To Have Diabetes?
thanks for the query
Normal fasting blood sugar level is less than 110. Values between 110 and 126 are considered to be impaired fasting glucose. People with impaired fasting glucose usually move towards diabetes and they as well develop complications of Diabetes.
However, non of your values reached 110 or stayed closed to 110 implying that you are free of diabetes and do not have to worry as of now.
Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is a better indicator for evaluation of glucose control of the body. It gives an idea of how the glucose level has been for over the past few months rather than the fasting blood sugar that gives an account only about the glucose level at that moment and is highly influence by the body's situation and by the test procedure. Normal values are less than 6 and you are clearly below 6. However, the only issue is that your last value showed an increase though still normal as it is at level of 6 that we could talk of impaired fasting glucose or impaired fasting tolerance in which cases you would be said to be pre-diabetic. For now, you are not and not turning towards pre-diabetes.
With your results, there is no reason to be afraid of. However, you could employ good health tips to prevent onset of diabetes such as;
-regular exercises,
-loosing weight if overweight or obese
-regular fasting blood sugar say every six months
-take vegetables and fruits at certain meals and let them be the only thing in the meal such as in the evening
etc.
Hope this answers your query. If you do have more query, i will be glad to help.
Best regards
