Eyes And Cheeks Twitching. Minor Stroke? Will The Twitching Leave?
i just wondered if this was highly unlikely to have been a mild stroke since i only have one symptom which is a strange sensation on the left side of my face.If i had a stroke wouldnt i have complete numbness or paralizes on my left side of my face and not just a weak funny feeling. How many people have you heard of that have had a mild stroke only to have one symptom?i have no left sided weakness in my arm or leg so does that mean i didnt have a stroke?
my main question is can a stroke cause only a strange feeling on one side of the face and leave no other lasting effects.i do not think i have bells palsy or tmj but i am scared i had a mild stroke but i didnt have any other symptoms.is it very unuasal for a person to oly have one symptom of a stroke annd have a strange feeling in one side of the face that has been there for aprox 2 weeks.how possible is it thAT THIS WAS A STROKE?
I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
Yes, I have in my experience seen patients with only mild symptoms like yours. Stroke symptoms depend on the type - ischemic and hemorrhagic.
Your explanations seem to me like a very mild ischemic stroke which is more common in the population. Studies vary as per country. You should consider yourself very lucky to undergo such mild type, because the condition is known to have its own course of development and there is no single cluster of symptoms that applies to the diagnostic definition in the population. Recovery also has its own course and continues life long, not few weeks/months as one might think. But, you could be entirely normal well before predictions. This is where stroke predictions in totality are so difficult. What is important in stroke is the time before first treatment is started from the onset of symptoms.
Although my lines would need a proper confirmation of stroke from a clinical examination and tests, but the normalcy that you wrote about over the last 2 weeks, hints at the mildness. But, this does not mean you postpone the primary care visit any longer. You need to get to him as soon as you can, lest you might need a blood thinner drug for short term at least.
Let me know if I have missed out any other concern in your question.
Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.
Sincerely,
