Question: I had a bruise on one breast and it is going away, but now I feel a lump.

I will assume that the bruise was there because of some "trauma" to the breast. What can happen with trauma is that the underlying "fat" can react in a way that forms a lump - called "fat necrosis".

That being said, I would not ignore ANY lump in a 52 year old woman. Even though there might be an explanation like I have given, you need to make an appointment with your doctor to get this checked out.
