Frequent Urination. Feeling Weak, Dizzy And Have Concentration Problems. Reactive Hypoglycemia?
I have increased frequent urination followed by extreme weakness, dizzy, hungry, concentration problems, nervousness with in 2-3 hours of having a meal ( esp after a high carbohydrate meal ). These symptoms go away once I eat something. Have irregular bowel movement as well in tensed situations.
I am non-diabetic as per recent tests.
Could this be relative/reactive hypoglycemia ? What tests confirm hypoglycemia and what causes it ?
Thanks
Welcome to XXXXXXX forum.
There may be possibility of reactive hypoglycemia but there must be documented low blood sugar (< 70 mg%) for confirmation.
As you have already documented that you have normal blood sugar, there appears to be least possibility of hypoglycemia.
You should go for regular testing of blood at home by using glucometer and especially during these attacks.
Any degree of hypoglycemia can be detected by this only.
Frequent and undetected hypolycemia may be XXXXXXX and may lead to progressive brain damage. If proper blood glucose is not supplied to brain , it may cause permanent brain damage.
With the available described symptoms, there could be possibility of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) along with panic attacks.
Presence of irregular bowel movements, tensed situations, nervousness suggests the diagnosis.
If your blood sugar is found to be normal (by regular check up using glucometer), then you should also consult with XXXXXXX medicine specialist/psychiatrist and should take proper treatment.
Selective Serotonin reuptake inhibitors along with benzodiazepines may be helpful in your case.
Hope that helps.
Let me know if I can address any more concerns.

How can I confirm if blood sugar levels are normal through glucometer readings ( at what times during the day and what readings are normal )
I have had these symptoms for about 6-7 years now.
Is this GAD curable ? does it also have symptoms mentioned like feeling hungry etc ?
Thanks
Fasting blood sugar between 70-110 mg% is normal range.
Postprandial blood sugar below and up to 140 is called as normal.
Blood sugar < 40 mg% may cause unconsciousness.
When a person takes meal, blood sugar should be measured at 30 minutes interval for coming 4 hours (in case of suspected reactive hypoglycemia).
As symptoms are persisting since 6-7 years, there appears to be least possibility of hypoglycemia as recurrent hypoglycemia may cause brain damage yet now.
Loss of appetite is common symptoms associated with GAD but very rarely increased appetite may be associated.
GAD is not curable, it is controllable.
