Getting Sudden Seizures, On Medication. Had Febral Seizure As Toddler. Suggestion?
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I understand that your daughter has been getting sudden seizures of late. I strongly feel that your daughter has epilepsy ie seizure disorder. As she had febrile seizures in her childhood, its possible that she has a seizure disorder now. though it's usually rare for kids with febrile seizures to develop seizure disorder later in life.
At this point of time where she is getting breakthrough seizure, I strongly advice her to continue both the medicines as upped by your physician. She needs EEG to identify the type and focus and blood test to know her antiepileptic drug levels. I am sure the last doctor performed test to determine drug level.
If the test are not done yet, you may consult Boston neurologist and confirm that the medicines have been rightly selected and are in the appropriate dose. You can also ask for drug levels if not already tested to make sure the seizure medications are in adequate level in the blood.
Hope I answered your query. Let me know if you need clarifications.
