Brief Answer: Treatment is with ATT. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXXXXX Sputum positive pul kochs falls in Cat I of WHO classification of TB(Kochs). Treatment is with Anti Tubercular Treatment(ATT). For the first 2 months, 4 drugs named INH, rifampicin, ethambutol and pyrazinamide are given. If required, this phase is extended by 1 more months. By this time sputum generally turns negative and patient is started on maintainence phase where only two drugs ie INH and rifampicin are continued for another 4 months. Total duration of treatment is 6 months. Drugs have to be taken regularly in the morning on empty stomach and nothing is to be taken by mouth for next 1/2 hour for better absorption of drugs. Patient`s progress should be monitored regularly by examining him, sputum test and x ray chest.
