Had A Nose Bleeding And Spit Out A Blood Clot Looking Thing. What Is It?

You must get your blood pressure checked as a routine procedure, as increase in blood pressure can precipitate a nose bleed which could be the first sign of hypertension.
When was your blood checked for platelets with your history of low platelets ? If it was not done recently, then you must get it done with consultation with your doctor immediately.
In the mean time, you may pinch your nose to stop the bleeding temporarily. Please do not blow your nose forcefully and just apply ice cold compress to your nostrils. Also keep your head bent forward so that you do not swallow the blood. Since the blood may also go backwards into the throat, that is the reason you had to spit it out in the form of blood clot.
At the same time, please call on your ENT surgeon/family physician for a completer ENT check up for excluding any local pathology causing bleeding in the nose.
If you have any further query, please do not hesitate to ask.
Take care.
