Brief Answer:
Ovulatory or intermenstrual bleeding

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The possible causes for your bleeding are :
- Ovulatory bleeding in part of mittlesmerz syndrome. This can present with cramps.
-Intermenstrual bleeding due to hormonal imbalance.
-If there is any possibility of pregnancy, the bleeding could be implantation bleeding or miscarriage.
-Due to local causes like cervical erosion etc.
So you once consult gynecologist, get examined.
By examination local causes can be ruled out.
Then, if possibility of pregnancy is there, go for pregnancy test once.
After excluding that, you can go for tablets to stop the bleeding.
If the intermenstrual bleeding repeats in future, better to go for ultrasound and hormonal profile to find out the exact cause and take treatment accordingly.

Take care.

The bleeding and other symptoms have ceased. Should I still go see a OBGYN?

Brief Answer:
mittlesmerz syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If the symptoms subsided and you are not having any problem, no need to worry.
If the symptoms repeat in future better to consult gynecologist once.
Mittlesmerz syndrome can be seen in some women during the period of ovulation.
That occurs due to hormonal imbalance.
It usually presents with spotting, pain abdomen etc symptoms.
