Brief Answer:
Viral fever

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Thanks for your query.

At such a young age, the immune system of the body is not well developed.
So, the one hour exposure to cold water at night has made his body susceptible to viral fever.

In your post, you have not mentioned about any other associated symptoms like body ache, cold, cough, etc.
Under such circumstances, management includes:
1. Paracetamol preparation like Crocin suspension 10 ml (to be given after food) three times a day
2. Maintenance of adequate hydration & nutrition status.
3. Avoid exposure to cold
4. Complete rest

If symptoms persists for more than 2 days, then it will be advisable to get certain investigations like complete blood count, peripheral smear for malaria & dengue check done.

There is no need to worry, your son will be fine.
Wishing him a good health & speedy recovery.
Take care.
