Has Poison Ivy. Prescribed Topical Cream. Cure?
Question: My 6 year old son has poison ivy. We went to see a dermatologist who prescribed a topical cream. But, we can't get it to go away. He has had it for 2 weeks. What is the best way to address or manage poison ivy with a child.

I can understand your problem.
Oral Benadryl or any other antihistaminic may be useful in decreasing the allergic reaction.
If there are any blisters do not peel them or break them.
Some times corticosteroids (either applied on the skin or taken orally) may be required particularly so in severe cases.
