I have seen the photographs and have gone through the details and my first suspicion is "premalignant changes".

The red rashes which you have noticed, since they have been around since an year, point to a more sinister condition, and these red patches are termed as erythroplakia (a premalignant condition which commonly affects the penis).

I was also able to see some small nodules on the penile shaft, I am not sure how long these have been present, so it would help me to come to a conclusion if you can share more details about these nodules (small lump kind of swellings around the penis).

Kindly let me know how long they have been present and have you noticed any changes in these nodules, like if they are growing and becoming bigger in size.

These nodules can be just genital warts or they can also be the part of the same problem, and could be cancerous changes.

What you can do about this.

1. First and foremost, please consult a general surgeon at the earliest to get your husband examined completely. (The surgeon must see the penis, you can't have a doctor who does not want to look at the genitalia).

2. Your surgeon must take some biopsy samples to rule out erythroplakia and cancer of the penis. Biopsy will also confirm if it is a viral wart.
