Should I Be Worried About The Whitehead On Top Of Right Inner Thigh Near Genital Area?

I have a wart with a whitehead on top on my right inner thigh near my genital area. It feels a bit sore now.I think it is about 5mm. Is this something serious or something minor? I planning a appointment to see my doctor about this and how to remove it.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the whitehead on top of right inner thigh near genital area.

There are two possibilities in your query:

1. Viral warts: It is a viral infection caused by HPV have thorn like whitish appearance.

2.Molluscum contagiosum: It is again a viral infection have pearl like appearance.


For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.

If it is increasing despite the treatment then meet a dermatologist or any family physician and get a proper treatment without delay. It appears form your query that you have developed infection in the area with inflammation at the affected region. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation. Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.
