Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on XXXXXXX
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that these are all symptoms of acute tonsillitis . I would advise you to have lot of hot liquids throughout the day . Saline gargles are highly recommended .
You should consult an ENT specialist and start taking antibiotic like azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 3 days as your doctor suggests. If fever comes then paracetamol is recommended .Keep yourself hydrated.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
It will take some time to act.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Amoxicillin is also an antibiotic and claritin is an anti histaminic . The medicines are alright , it is not advisable to change antibiotic unless you complete the course of amoxicillin . Wait for a day or two it will be relieved.
