Brief Answer:
Drying of mucosal secretion of the nose and sinus

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to XXXXXXX Thanks for your query.

Crust formation in the nose is due to drying of the mucosal secretion of the nose and paranasal sinuses.
In the absence of infection it may happen if the climate is hot and humid.
Nose has a role to play as humidifier of inhaled air.
But if the quantity is more, do consult your doctor to examine your nose and paranasal sinuses.
You can try saline nasal spray to remove it.

Hope the answer helps your.
