Have Had This Bump On Panty Line. Have Cystic Acne On Face. What Could It Be, STD?

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to XXXXXXX
I can understand your concern for the bump over panty line. It is sometimes really distressing for anyone to have anything unusual over genital region.
Now after reading your brief query I can make out two possibilities:
1. Folliculitis: It is an inflammation or infection of the hair root with oil gland at the genital area. As we know that our genital area have lot of coarse hair and this area is always been closed, so there is always a chance of infection of hair root at this area.
It can further be aggravated by heat and humidity with sweating over this area. It is generally painful to begin with or have a feeling of discomfort. It generally begins as reddish dot and then can enlarge later on to form a cyst kind of lesion if remained for longer time. There may be blackish to brownish scab kind of thing present during healing phase. This can be a common feature in person who have had cystic acne, so this can be the first possibility in our case.
2. Molluscum contagiousum: It is a type of viral infection caused by molluscum contagiosum virus. It appears as a simple whitish bead and when fully formed mimics a pearl like whitish bump with central indentation in it.
It is totally asymptomatic condition and never cause any discomfort except for itching some times rarely. It is commonly seen after an unprotected sexual intercourse or sometime without this thing also.
For the close possibility of the problem it would be better if you can upload a close picture of the area. As per your query you have attached a picture, but I was not able to find any picture with your query. So you can re-upload a picture with good resolution. For that you have a feature to upload images by yourself at the right side of the query page, please utilize that so that I can answer your further queries. Or else, you can send as an attachment to YYYY@YYYY with the subject as "Attn: Dr. Sanjay Kumar Kanodia). I hope this feature will help us better in resolving your problem.
Otherwise also there are certain suggestions which are applicable in nay of the condition:
- The most important thing you should do is to not touch, pinch, pop or squeeze the area by any means.
-Stay away from hot and humid climate.
-Take two times bath and maintain good hygiene.
-Wear cotton clothes and cotton undergarments and especially change the undergarments two times a day
- You can do cold or warm water compresses over the affected area.
Any how you should not be worried about the situation as it is present from last 1 month and has not caused any acute problem so no active intervention is required. I can be able to comment best once I receive the photograph sent by you.
I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.
"Wish you good health"

would not wearing underwear help it to go away?
Thanks a lot for prompt reply and uploading the good resolution images.
Now we can very well reach to the exact diagnosis of the problem. The good news for you is that your problem is not at all a sexually transmitted disease of any kind including molluscum contagiosum also.
So the only thing we remained with is the “folliculitis” which turned into a simple cystic lesion. As I said earlier it is quite common to find such kind of things at this place or any hairy area.
It is also commonly seen where there is continuous friction is present. In your case it is present exactly over the panty line where there is friction by the edges of the panty is quite common. It can also be due to repeated touching of the area. So for the improvement and stop the further recurrence of the problem you can wear some kind panties where the edges are not coming directly over it and there fore the factor of friction can be omitted.
For the betterment at this time -the most important thing is “NO TOUCHING, PINCHING, POPPING OR SQUEEZING” the area by any means. As you said in query the lesion hurts only when you push it, so it means you try and see as it is painful or not. Therefore I have written above instruction in bold letters so that you should not touch it for unnecessary examination. You now know what the condition is- so no need to get panicky about the same.
You can do simple compresses of warm water or cold water over the same. Do not try to do some home remedies. If at all you want then can apply topical “Mupirocin” cream in a very thin layer two times a day or preferably night time. Stay away from hot and humid climate. Take two times bath and maintain good hygiene. Wear cotton clothes and cotton undergarments and especially change the undergarments two times a day.
The problem will be alright in next couple of weeks or make take 1-2 months to get resolved. So don’t be anxious if it is not reducing in next few weeks. If at all you feel any severe pain or if the size is increasing or if there is any deep redness in the area then you may need medical attention where a simple course of antibiotics by mouth along with pain killers will resolve the problem.
