Have Pain In Heart When Drinking Cold Water. Cause?
Cold water can stimulate nerve system
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to XXXXXXX Thanks for the query.
It is possible, but first you should be sure that it is pain coming from heart because commonly there is heartburn, stomach discomfort and stomach bloating resulting from drinking cold beverages and it can mimic heart disease.it happens because cold water stimulates vagal nerve.
Heart pain is felt in the middle and left part of chest with pain radiating to left arm and there are no gastroitestinal symptoms while stomach issue is located bit lower or in the throat. These 2 can be associated too because vagal nerve stimulation causes both changes in heart beat frequency and contractility and stomach motility and acid secretion. Stomach pain is to be expected in healthy people, but changes in heart frequency and contractility should not cause pain as you describe and it may indicate decreased myocardial blood flow and considering your medical history this is very likely to be it.
YOu should just do reguar heart check ups and avoid cold beverages. It cant cause anything serius such as heart attack, but try to drink more slowly or not such cold drinks just to avoid this unpleasant pain.
WIsh you good health. Regards. Feel free to ask.
