Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
The most common cause of mastoid region pain is most commonly due to local pathology.
It can be infection leading to mastoiditis or some other local disease. Markers of inflammation can be in normal range in some patients. An Xray or CT of mastoid and neck will give important information which can help in diagnosis.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
