Have Shingles For Last Few Month. How Long It Takes To Cure?
Thanks for sharing your query with us.
In shingles or herpes zoster, there is a painful blistering skin rash due to the varicella-zoster virus.
The first symptom is usually pain, tingling or burning on particular area. This is followed by red patches and small blisters. This heals by forming crusts fall in 2 to 3 weeks.
Other symptoms may include: Headache, joint pain, abdominal pain, fever and malaise which usually lasts just before the rash or in the first week of illness.
Postherpetic neuralgia is the pain caused after the rashes heal. It last for a variable length of time ranging from days to months.
If you have this kind of pain persisting, you should visit your dermatologist to get medications for the same. Medicines prescribed usually are gabapentin and pregabalin. Other pain killers like acetaminophen, ibuprofen may help.
However, I do not think that you should be experiencing any flu like symptoms /rash with varicella for 2 months. In case you do, you should see your physician for his opinion.
Hope this is helpful to you.
I will be happy to assist you with further queries.
