Brief Answer: Increase pain medications Detailed Answer: Hi, You had not mentioned the pain medicines that you were taking? Is it only Oxicontin and cymbalta that were tried? Were you referred to pain management specialist and rehab specialists? It is extremely important to take their opinion before trashing any patient who is in pain and leading poor quality of life. I would carefully approach such people. I would try to increase the pain medication dose slowly till he reaches the pain free life. I would also do a large amount of counseling how to tolerate pain further and how to increase the pain threshold. A Psychotherapist intervention is needed in this case. There are other holistic ways to tolerate pain and I would try to explore them while discussing with you. Acupuncture is one thing which strikes my mind. Would you like to explore this? I will think of other options while you come back with more information. I pray for a pain free life for a person who is in front of me.

Brief Answer: Acupuncture is different from massage Detailed Answer: Hi, Acupuncture has evidence but massage therapy or chiropratice has no evidence in treating the chronic pain. I also understood that you were not referred to pain medicine clinic. This is important. I know why your primary doctor does not increase the dose beyond certain milligrams. He would come under DEA screening beyond a point. Ideally he/she should refer to pain medicine as they have higher limits to prescribe the pain medicine dose.

Brief Answer: Doc thinks that you have drug seeking behaviour Detailed Answer: Hi, With all that had happened, the pain doc was not realizing that you are in intense pain. He was adjudging you have a drug seeking behaviour than real pain. Flexiril is a muscle relaxant. I am not sure how can you convince your doctor that you do not have a behaviour and you are in real pain. That should solve the problem and he can prescribe you valium and xanax. I know you spend on obtaining the medicines but for doctors it is like being under scanner. So they have an algo to prescribe the medicines from less potent to more potent. I think only repeated visits to the pain clinic would end up in getting high potent pain medications. Would you get a disability insurance?
