Having Loose Motions. Using Sporlac Medicine. Remedy?
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
It is normal for infants of that age to pass stool every time they have a meal. This is what is called gastrocolic reflex.
Does he have any blood or mucus in the stool. In such a case this is called dysentery and antibiotics may be required.
Is is passing watery stool? If he is having watery stool several times then he should be monitored for dehydration.
Monitor for signs of dehydration.
They include
1. Decreased skin turgor
2. Increasing thirst.
3. Sunken eyes.
4. Irritability.
5. Drowsiness.
6. Decreasing passage of urine.
Oral rehydration solution or any other solution containing salt and sugar should be given.
Probiotics and Zinc prescribed by your doctor will be useful.
But if he passing stool only when having a meal then nothing is required.

Thanks for the reply..but normally my son goes once a day for motion...from past 4days he is passing watery stools when having food...he is quite active and no signs of dehydration...dont know the reason for these watery stools....can u please suggest
Most of the loose motions (95%) are because of viral infections.
They take their own time to subside.
Maintain hydration particularly if the loose stools are watery in nature.
Zinc supplementation and probiotic that you are using will help.
They take their own time and you will have to just hydrate him with ORS if the stools are watery and occur several times.
Hope this helps.
