Having Pain On Thigh Near Groin Area, Vomiting And Nausea. Ultrasound Done. Is It Femoral Hernia?

Question: My wife has had leg pain in the upper left thigh (near groin) for the past 6 years. She also has vomiting/nausea that keeps recurring on a weekly (on average) basis. We've been to many Dr's, had many tests, and have heard many theories, none of which have helped her over this time. The latest theory is that it could be a Femoral Hernia. I've researched this, and it would seem to explain most if not all of her symptoms. However, there is no bulge that we could find. Can these be difficult to detect (physically)? We've had a few ultrasounds of her thigh/abdomen (as well as CTs) over the years as well. Is it possible they could have missed it?
Hi
Thanks for posting your query
Basically in expert XXXXXXX it is very unlikely that a femoral.hernia would be missed on ultrasound or a CT
Clinically the bulge may not be evident but you can feel it if she strains as while coughhing
The symptoms may point to femoral hernia but needs to get it confirmed by clinical examination and by an ultrasound
Till then try Gabapantin for pain and Domperidone for nausea and vomiting
Hope this helps
