Having Severe Swelling In Leg And Foot. Had Total Knee Done. Hypothyroid Being Treated Now With Z Pack. Guide?

Severe swelling of the leg and the foot deserve a critical clinical evaluation. Others parameters might be necessary to make a more in depth appreciation of this clinical syndrome. When you started experiencing the swelling, do you have any pains around the swollen areas? are the swollen regions warm or hot? any fevers or not?
In case of pain and warmth, this should be a swelling of inflammatory origin. Rheumatologic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, osteoarhthritis could be at the origin. With associated fever and pain, septic arthritis should be considered.
In case you experience no pain, other causes of lower limb swelling must be considered. Heart failure, kidney disease, venous insufficiency, liver disease should be considered.
A reevaluation of thyroid function should be done. I strongly suggest you book an appointment with your primary care physician or internist for reevaluation. A clinical examination shall be sufficient to make or orient an appropriate diagnosis and management plan.
Thanks and hope this helps. do not hesitate asking further questions if need be.
