Hello I am Dr Ravinder Sharma.

The first step in a patient of sore throat is history taking and than examination of throat and adjoining areas (nose, voice box and neck). Sore throat is a vague term which covers so many illnesses. The treatment of sorethroat depends on the cause of sorethroat. At times some investigations are also required to get a diagnosis.

I would lke to hear more from you like
1. When it started - duration
2. Is it continuous or off and on
3. Any treatment taken and effect of treatment
4. Any difficulty in swallowing
5. Cough- Present or absent , dry or productive
6. Constant desire to clear throat
7. Hoarseness of voice
8. Recurrent nos eblock, nasal discharge
9. Headache
10. Difficulty in swallowing
11. Neck swelling
12. What makes it worse
13. what makes you feel better
14. Any other associated symptoms
15. Any allergies
16. Any Medication you are on
17. Any history of high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar
18. Have you ever been hospitalized

I would wait to hear from you. It would be appropriate if you sned a detailed account of each of these symptoms. Please send some treatment papers and investigations (if you have them)
