Having Stomach Problems. Noticed Undigested Food Particles In Stool. On Probotic. Alternate Solution?

Question: I have traveled to US from India 2 weeks back and I have been having stomach problems(bloated, irritation) since then. My stool is always soft / semisolid and once a while I get very watery stool. Manytimes, There are many undigested food particles in the stool. I get 3-4 bowel movements everyday. I feel hungry at the right time and I don't see any problem with that. I have been eating some probotic tablet(Philips colon XXXXXXX 1.5 billion CFUs) for a week but situation is not much improved.
Since, I will be travelling back to india in 2 weeks I have not planned to visit any doctor office here.
It would be great if you could provide some advice to keep my stomach health properly.

Hello, XXXXXX
If the problem started after you came to US , it is quite possible
that your system is still not adjusted to the change in foods
that you might have been exposed to or the climate & time
change. I am not sure if you are eating vegetarian foods only
or also eating meat and poultry. Undigested food particles
in semi-soft or watery stool may indicate a hurried transit
of the food through the intestine, increased contractions
of the intestine. It does not sound like any infection or
infestation. In the mean time, try to stay on a bland type
of diet, avoid milk and excess caffeine. I would suggest
taking Peptobismol (Bismuth subsalicylate) tablets 1-2
tablets two or three times a day. Continue probiotics
and plain yogurt is good. After you get back to India, if
the problem persists, you may need stool and blood tests
Wish you well.

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX

Thanks for your advice. I will look for Pepto Bismol. I have stopped eating meat & poultry items and eating only vegetable food. Can I eat all kinds of fruits and salads during upset stomach? or should I eat only cooked vegetables?

Thanks, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Hello, XXXXXX
Glad you read my note. At this point I recommend that
you stick to watermelon, ripe bananas and apples. As for
salads, avoid tomatoes,cucumber,cabbage, cauliflower
for now. Later on you will be able to reintroduce them
in your diet.
Hope this answers your concerns.
Good luck.
